In this video, we’re going to look at how we can view our different media types we have in our Photos app on the Mac. This includes viewing just all of your photos, or all of your photos that were taken in portrait mode, or all of your videos, are maybe even all of your videos in slow motion. Let’s see how we do this. Let’s go to my Mac.
Now, when we’re looking at our photos, if we go over to the left in our sidebar, you’re going to see we have Media Types. These albums, these media types are created by Apple. Let’s go and open this up. I click on the little arrow here, the carrot, and now I can see all of the different media types that are available.
So what I’d like to do is view all of my videos I have in my Library. I select this, and I’m looking at all of my videos. I can see all of my selfies, click on selfies, and there are all my selfies. So you can view all of these different media types. Here are my slow-motion videos.
Now were these media types become valuable, as if you use an iCloud photo library. In other words, you take a photo on your phone that shows up on your Mac. When you use an iCloud photo library, what you can do is see all these different types of photos that the iPhone can take. A perfect example is with screenshots. I want to view all of the screenshots that I’ve taken on my iPhone. We’ve all taken that accidental screenshots. Well, now what we’re able to do is go into Screenshots here as a media type. We can see all of our screenshots, and then we can delete the ones we do not want to keep.
So that’s how we view our different media types in the Photos app on the Mac. We just go over to Media Types, and we can see all of our different media types. It becomes valuable if you’re using iCloud photo library.
