Learn how to drag and drop controls from the Control Center on your Mac to the Menu Bar.
In macOS Big Sur, Apple introduced a new Control Center. With the Control center, we have various controls, and with some of these controls, we can also add them to the Menu Bar. We can do that through the System Preferences or by using drag and drop. See how to use drag and drop to move controls from the Control Center to the Menu Bar in this video for the Mac.

In this video, we’re going to take a look at how we can easily take a control from our Control Center and add it to our Menu Bar. This was introduced with macOS Big Sur. Let’s go to my Mac.
If you’ve seen my video on the Control Center, you may know that when we go to our Control Center, this is new and macOS Big Sur, when we go to our Control Center, we have various controls. Some of these controls, we can add to the Menu Bar. And the way that we do that is by going to our System Preferences.
Let’s take a quick recap on that. I go over to my Apple Menu, and then we go over to our System Preferences. From here, we need to go to our Dock & Menu Bar preferences. With these preferences over here, what we’re able to do is select if we want to show them in the Menu Bar.
But in addition to that, we can also just drag them from our Control Center. I click on the Control Center and let’s say I wanted to add AirDrop to my Menu Bar. All I have to do is just click and drag, and I place it where I want in the Menu Bar. Now, when I close the Control Center, I have my AirDrop here.
If I want to remove it from the Menu Bar, all I have to do is just hold down the command key and click and drag – you’re going to see the X there. I just select go and removes it from my Menu Bar. It is still in my Control Center. I click on this, and we can see we still have AirDrop.
So if you want to add a control from the Control Center to your Menu Bar, maybe you need to add a temporarily. All you have to do is just open up the Control Center, drag it to the Menu Bar, place it where you want. When you are finished, you take the command key and click and drag it off of the Menu bar, and it’ll remove it from the Menu Bar. It’ll still be located in the Control Center.
So that’s how we can easily place a control from our Control Center into the Menu Bar on the Mac.
