In this tip for the Mac, I show you how you can change the clock in the menu bar from digital to analog. When you do this, it will take up less space on your menu bar, thereby leaking more room for other menu extras, or keeping your Mac a bit cleaner. See how this is done in my video on changing the clock from digital to analog in the menu bar.

In this tip for the Mac, I’m going to show you how you can change the clock in the menu bar from digital to analog. Let’s go to my Mac. Now, by default, when you look at the clock in the menu bar, you’re going to see it as a digital clock. Well, we can change this to an analog clock.
To do that. What we need to do is we need to go to our System Preferences. So I’m going to go up to the Apple menu. And then we go over to our System Preferences from here. What we need to do is we need to go to date and time. Now I am using macOS Catalina; Apple changed how our preferences; our preference panes are organized in macOS Catalina.
So it may look a little different than your computer if you’re using macOS Mojave or older, but it still works the same. Just look for the date and time preference pain. Now, what we do is we select clock because we’re going to make changes to the clock. The change that we want to make is analog. So now, I select analog.
And now, when we go to our menu bar, you’re going to see we have an analog clock. So that’s how we can easily change. The clock and the menu bar from a digital clock to an analog clock. We go to our system preferences, go to date and time, and then make sure you have the clock tab selected from there.
You select analog. And then in your menu bar, you’ll see an analog clock instead of a digital clock. So that’s how you can change the digital clock to an analog clock and the Mac’s menu bar.
