Video TranscriptIn this video we’re going to look at how we can see which apps are using the battery on our iPad. Let’s go to my iPad.

Now, if your battery doesn’t last that long on your iPad, one of the first things you may want to do is see which apps are using your battery. Maybe you need to force quit that app, or re-install it, or just use it less often.

How do we do that? How do we see which apps are using our battery? Well, what we need to do is go over to our Settings app. From here, what we do is we swipe up on the left until you see Battery.

Under Battery, we have a number of different options I can set. If I want to show the battery percentage up at the upper right-hand corner, I can put my iPad into low power mode. This can be very helpful if you know that you can’t charge her for a while.

And then I can see my Battery Activity. I can see this over the last 24 hours, or over the last 10 days. Now, what I would recommend doing is looking at your statistics over the last 10 days. So you can see if there’s any trends. So I tap on last 10 days.

Now I want to see which apps are using my battery. Well, if you swipe up, you’re going to see Battery Usage by App. So in my case here, my Settings app over the last 10 days, it has used over 40% of my battery. We can see that Safari here has used 26% of my battery. That makes sense for me, because I’ve been doing recordings on the Settings app and Safari.

We can also see our activity. How long did I spend in the Settings app? How long did I spend on my Home and Lock Screen. To do that, we go over to Show Activity, and now we can see the activity. I have spent three hours and 38 minutes in the Settings app. I have spent three hours and four minutes on my Home and Lock Screen. You can use this to see which apps are more efficient.

In my case here, my Home and Lock Screen is more efficient on my battery than the settings app. Why do I say that? Well in both cases, my activity has been over three hours, but if we go over to our Show Battery Usage, I can see that my Settings app has used almost three times as much battery. So you can also use this to see which apps are easier on your battery.

So now what do you do if you see an app that is using a lot of battery? Well, the first thing you can do is you can force quit it, see if that helps out. The next thing you can do is delete it and re-download it. That might help out too. And then the third thing is just maybe use a different app. If you have the Facebook app, if that uses a lot of battery, see how it works by using Facebook in Safari, maybe it’ll use less battery.

So that’s how we can see our battery usage based on apps on the iPad. Basically, what we’re able to do is see how much battery a specific app is using. We can also see how efficient it is on our battery or how easy it is on our battery. To do this, we go to our Settings app and then you go to Battery. What I would recommend doing is taking a look at your apps over the last 10 days. So make sure you tap on the last 10 Days slider. And then when you swipe up, you can see your battery usage by app.

So that’s how we can see which apps are using our battery on the iPad.
