Creating a Video Conference in Zoom on the Mac

Learn how to host video calls with Zoom on your Mac and iPhone

I thought I’d throw something quick together on using Zoom to host a video conference during these trying times. Why Zoom? You can easily create a video call with people who are not on Apple devices, in addition to inviting people on Apple devices. As you may know, FaceTime is great for video calls, but it only works with people who are on Apple devices, but not everyone we know are on our favorite devices. What do you do then? One option is to use Zoom. Zoom offers video conferencing between all major platforms, and they have a free version.

In this video, I show you how you can host a video call with Zoom. It’s pretty simple. You go to their website (zoom.us), sign up for a free account, download and install the software. Once you have it downloaded, open it up and sign in. From there you create a new meeting and send a link to everyone that you want to have on your call. Your guests do not have to have an account to join in the video call.
